How to redesign your life

Read Time: 2-mins

When we come out of high school, we're immediately told to start picking universities for subjects we want to major in. Four years later, you graduate and start applying to jobs based on whatever subject you chose when you were 18.

To cut down commuting costs, you move closer to your job. You sign a new lease, upgrade your lifestyle, and end up paying for the debt and expenses you incurred because of that job.

Life will move fast, and at some point, you'll pause and ask yourself, "How did I get here?" Luckily, it's never too late whenever that moment happens.

If you're not happy with who you are and where you are in life, then here are the steps you can take to redesign it. This isn't a one-size-fits-all solution, but you can start with this:

  1. First, conduct an audit and take inventory of yourself. Introspection will improve your ability to confront your fears.
  2. Process your emotional and mental thoughts.
  3. Go where things are going - surround yourself with new experiences.
  4. Visit new countries, try new foods, and meet new people because that's where your life is made.
  5. Learn new things in any field that interests you.
  6. Listen to new music or watch new documentaries. Confuse your social media algorithm.

Doing these new things will rid you of your old habits and assumptions. This will eventually help you figure out what it is that you want and don't want out of life.
